Configure CCIS MI settings

Steps to set the counting options, priority updates, and custom data fields for the CCIS MI.

The Configuration page controls how the CCIS Client and Claimant Information System, Management Information tool counts data, which errors and warnings are shown, and any custom data fields.

⚠️ Warning: The Core+ database records configuration settings directly. Every change applies to all users immediately.

You need MI Administrator permissions to access the MI Administration Tool.

  1. Go to the MI Administration Tool page.

  2. Click Configuration to open the Configuration page.

  3. Select the CCIS tab.


Counting options

Counting options direct the MI Administration Tool to count specific sections of the return from different tables in the database.

  • Period End Calculation: Select End of Month or Current Date.

  • Count as Year 11 if moved out after X days of Start of Academic Year — Enter the number of days.

  • Shielded: Select Do not count Shielded or Count Shielded.

  • Ward Code: Select Default to Office if Postcode not found or Blank if Postcode not found.

  • Intended Destination: Select Count from Year 10 onwards or Count in Year 11 only.

  • Course Length: Select Qualification Type or Course Duration.

  • September Guarantee: Select Most Recent Offer or Best Offer. You can re-order and prioritise best offers using the Lookups Admin feature in Core+.

  • Course Title Description: Select Course & Course Description, Job title, or Course Description.

Activity Survey options

The following settings relate specifically to the Activity Survey.

  • Collect Activity Survey Contact Details: Select to include the young person's address, telephone, and email details in the returned dataset. This data is not returned to NCCIS (National Client Caseload Information System).

  • SOC Source: Select Job Code or CRCI Connexions Resource Centre Index. SOC stands for Standard Occupational Classification.

  • Qualification Source: Select NVQ National Vocational Qualification Level or Academic Level.

  • Course Source: Select Qualification Type or Source.

  • Validate SOC: Clear this check box to stop the program validating Employment and Training destinations for a SOC code. This data is not returned to NCCIS.


Priority updates

Select the outstanding errors and warnings to display in the CCIS MI on the top-level Summary tab:

  • Outstanding NCCIS P1 Priority 1 Errors.

  • Outstanding NCCIS P2 Priority 2 Errors.

  • Outstanding NCCIS Warnings.


Custom data fields

Five custom fields can be enabled or disabled and renamed as required. When you enable a custom data field, select the data to display when the MI is run from the drop-down list. Once populated, custom data fields remain in place until the MI is next run.

  1. Click Save to save your changes.

  2. Click Back to return to the MI Administration Tool page.

  • On the MI Administration Tool page, click Configuration to open the Configuration page, then select the CCIS tab.
