Object sets control the layout of screens in the Screen Designer. When you're in screen design mode, you can switch between object sets, edit their details, or create new ones from scratch or from an existing set. The current object set is shown in the Screen Designer toolbar.
Select an object set
Click the Change/Create icon. The Object Sets window opens.
Select an object set from the list, then click Select to reload and change the layout of the page you're viewing. The current object set name on the toolbar updates to confirm the selection, and any changes you make are saved to that object set.
Click Save to commit your changes, or Exit to cancel them.
Edit an object set
Click Edit to amend a selected object set's code and description. The Object Set Properties dialog opens.
Amend the text as required, then click Update.
Create a new object set
To create a new object set using the default screen designs, follow these steps.
Click Create New. The Object Set Properties dialog opens.
Enter the object set code.
Enter the object set description.
Click Ok.
You can now customise the page by adding objects.
Copy an object set
To create a new object set from an existing one, follow these steps.
Select an object set from the table, then click Create New From Selected. The Object Set Properties dialog opens.
Enter the object set code.
Enter the object set description.
Click Ok.
You can now customise the copied page by adding, removing, or repositioning objects.
đ¤ Note: New object sets are not saved until you click Save on the Screen Designer toolbar.
Copy an object set from the Administration menu
You can also copy object sets using Object Set Copy from the Administration menu. This copies screen designs from one object set to another without opening the Screen Designer.
â ď¸ Warning: Use this with caution. Object sets copied this way cannot be restored to the System Default set.
From the Administration menu, select Object Set Copy. The Object Set Copy page opens.
Select the copy object set (copy to) from the lookup. This is the object set you are going to overwrite.
Select the base object set (copy from) from the lookup.
Select Exclude existing screens to preserve existing screen designs, or Copy and replace existing screens to overwrite where a screen design exists.
Click Begin Copy.
When you're in screen design mode, the current object set is shown in the Screen Designer toolbar. You can select a different object set, edit its details, create a new one, or copy an existing one.
