The Youth Offending Team (YOT) and Common Children's Information Sharing (CCIS) sides of Core+ handle count types differently. Understanding this difference helps you avoid data submission errors.
CCIS uses the count type Code as the primary factor for sending data.
YOT uses the count type Description instead. This means the description must exactly match the expected value, including spelling, spacing, and punctuation.
Formatting requirements for YOT count type descriptions
To edit count type descriptions in Core+, you need access to the count type configuration area. If you cannot see this, contact your system administrator to check your permissions.
To ensure data sends correctly from the YOT side of Core+, each count type description must meet the following requirements.
No leading or trailing spaces in the description field.
No double spaces between words.
Hyphens must be typed manually. If you copy and paste text containing hyphens (particularly from Microsoft Word), the hyphen character may not be recognised correctly. If a description contains a hyphen, delete the characters around it and retype them manually.
đ¤ Tip: If you are unsure whether a hyphen has been copied incorrectly, delete the entire word containing it and retype it from scratch to be certain.
If data is still not sending
Follow these steps to check your count type descriptions:
Open the count type configuration area in Core+.
Check each description for leading or trailing spaces.
Check each description for double spaces between words.
Check each description for hyphens, delete and retype any that may have been copied from Microsoft Word.
â ď¸ Important: If data is not sending as expected from the YOT side of Core+, check the count type descriptions first. Even a small formatting difference, such as an extra space or an incorrectly formatted hyphen, can cause a mismatch.
