Citrix SSL Error 4 server is not accepting connections

What to do to resolve Citrix SSL Error 4 when you receive the message The Citrix SSL server you have selected is not accepting connections.

If you receive the error "The Citrix SSL server you have selected is not accepting connections", follow the steps below to resolve it.

  1. Ask your IT administrator to add the Citrix gateway as an exception to your proxy rules, so that your device connects directly to it.

  2. Uninstall Citrix Receiver completely using the Citrix Receiver Cleanup Utility, restart your device, then reinstall Citrix Receiver.

  3. Check that you have the latest version of Citrix Workspace installed. If not, download and install the latest version.


If the issue continues

If you are still receiving the SSL error after completing the steps above, try the following:

  • Clear your browser cache and cookies, then try connecting again.

  • Try connecting using a different network. For example, turn off your VPN or switch from Wi-Fi to a wired connection.

  • Raise a support ticket and include the full error message, the steps you have already tried, and a screenshot of the error.
