You can change configuration options to modify the default behaviour of Core+ to meet your requirements. These are found in the Administration menu.
Click Administration, then click Configuration.
The Configuration Admin page will be displayed with the System Tab in context.

The following options are configurable:
Login Tries Left | Set the number of login attempts allowed before a user is locked out. |
Use a Memorable Word | Controls whether the memorable word functionality is used for logging into Core+. |
Password Strength | Set the required password strength. |
Password, Days Before Expire | Specifies the number of days before a password expires and must be changed, 0 = Off. |
Password, Changes Before Reuse | The number of times the user must change their password before they can reuse an old password. |
Session Timeout | Set the session timeout for security purposes. |
Maximum Record Count | Specifies the maximum number of records that can be returned when searching. (Minimum setting: 100. Maximum setting: 10000). A higher number may affect performance. |
Save Behaviour | Specifies whether the application saves or saves and exits the current page when a record is saved. This is a global option, but can be overridden on some pages. |
Cancel Behaviour | Specifies whether the application cancels or cancels and exits the current page when a record is cancelled. This is a global option, but can be overridden on some pages. |
Default Entity Person Member Type | Specifies the default member type used for finding the entity that a person links to when populating fields with default values (screen design, default value = login ref). It will look for an entity where the logged-in person is linked to the specified type. |
Errors and Warnings Exclusion (Days) | Records which have appeared in the Errors & Warnings widget will be excluded after the specified number of days. |
Postcode Validator Notification Mode | Specifies how postcode validation is enforced on the postcode fields. |
Postcode Validator Method | Specifies how the postcode field is validated. |
Default Appointment Filter | Specifies the default filter used in the appointments list. |
Default Reminder Filter | Specifies the default filter used in the reminder's pop-up window. |
Meeting Duration (minutes) | Specifies the number of minutes the meeting request will be scheduled for. Used for the Appointment and Referral page. |
Grid Preview Position | Specifies the position of the grid preview dialogue. |
Default Text Editor Font | Indicates the default font that will be used in the Ultimate Editor controls throughout the system. |
Auto Suspend User Days | Indicates the number of days of non-access to the system before users will automatically be suspended. |
Menu Icon Position | Controls the position of the green ticks and red crosses on the main menu (to the left or right of the text menu items). |
Warn on Save | Indicates whether a warning dialogue is displayed, allowing the user to cancel after clicking the Save button. |
Warn on Cancel | Indicates whether a warning dialogue is displayed, allowing the user to cancel after clicking the Cancel/Exit button. |
Auto Logoff Warning Prompt (minutes) | Controls whether a warning prompt is displayed to inform the user that the system is about to auto-log off. Users will have the ability to reset the timer if required. |
Memorable Word Minimum Length | Specifies the minimum length for a memorable word. |
Days Before Memorable Word Expires | Specifies the number of days before a memorable word expires and must be changed. (0 = Off). |
Authentication Mode | Controls the method used to authenticate users. |
Domain Name | Specifies the active directory domain name for AD authentication. |
Local Authentication Fallback | Controls whether the user is allowed to fall back to local authentication if the domain server cannot be contacted. |
Trim spaces from search | Controls whether all searches trim spaces before performing the search. |
On the Available Reports List page, show the 'File Name' column | Determines whether to show the 'File Name' column on the Available Reports List page. |
Use Selectors for Memorable Word | Controls whether the Memorable Word can only be entered via alphanumeric selectors on login. Please contact support before setting this Config to True, as users with non-alphanumeric characters will not be able to log in. |
Show Login Message | Specifies whether or how the admin Login Message should be displayed. |
Display Forgotten Details Option | Controls whether users can reset their password and memorable word on the Login page. |
Use Editor Spell Check | Controls whether the editor's built-in spell check is enabled. |
Default Bookmark Save Mode | Specifies the default save mode for bookmark lists. |
Display Unread Messages Notification | Controls whether the Unread Messages Notification is displayed when the user visits a page. |
Show calendar events on a timeline | Controls whether the calendar events for YOT and Young Person display as a timeline. |
Display the Session Timer | Controls whether the countdown session timer on the status bar will be displayed. |
Bookmarks Allow Shielded | If True is selected, a user can add or import records onto a bookmark list that may be shielded from other users. If that bookmark list is then viewed by another user to whom the record is shielded, the record will not be shown in the list. |
Admin Auto-Reset User Account on Password Change | If selected, this check box determines if a user account is set to active, and the 'Tries Left' is reset when the user's password is changed via the admin screens. |
System Type Watermark | Add a watermark to display the System type. The support team can configure the text. |
Allow Electronic Signature | Controls whether the signature control will allow users to sign electronically. |
List pages rows | The number of rows to display per page on List pages. A higher number may affect performance. |
List pages visible rows. | The number of rows that are visible on List pages. A higher number may affect performance. (When this is lower than the number of rows per page, then a scrollbar is displayed, allowing the remaining records to be scrolled into view). |
Lookup pages rows | The number of rows to display per page on Lookup pages. A higher number may affect performance. |
Lookup pages visible rows | The number of rows that are visible on Lookup pages. A higher number may affect performance. (When this is lower than the number of rows per page, then a scrollbar is displayed, allowing the remaining records to be scrolled into view). |
Popup pages rows | The number of rows to display per page on Popup pages. A higher number may affect performance. |
Popup pages visible rows | The number of rows that are visible on the Popup pages. A higher number may affect performance. (When this is lower than the number of rows per page, then a scrollbar is displayed, allowing the remaining records to be scrolled into view.) |
Search pages rows | The number of rows to display per page on Search pages. A higher number may affect performance. |
Search pages visible rows. | The number of rows that are visible on Search pages. A higher number may affect performance. (When this is lower than the number of rows per page, then a scrollbar is displayed, allowing the remaining records to be scrolled into view.) |
Widget grids rows | The number of rows to display per page on Widget grids. A higher number may affect performance. |
User must provide a reason for deletion | Will force users to give reasons as to why they are deleting Top Level Records, for example, Young Person records or YOT Case records. |
Lookup selection pop-up allows 'Add Lookup' pop-up | Determines whether a new lookup record can be created via the 'Lookup Selection' pop-up. |
Warning Indicator Popup Time | Controls the time (in minutes) that the warning pop-up is suppressed after it is displayed (zero to disable). |
Auto-Open Single Result | When using a search page, if there is only one search result, then open that record immediately. This must also be enabled through each search page's page config available via Screen Designer, Set Objects Tab Order, Settings tab, Auto-open Single Results. |
Sort Lookups by | From the drop-down list, select to order lookups alphabetically by Code or Description. |
