Written by Erica

The Core+ Grid Designer enables you to add or remove, rename and reorder columns and set the sorting order and direction. Where a grid is customizable, a cog icon is displayed above the grid on the right-hand side.

📌Note: You do not need to access the Screen Designer to customise a grid.

  1. Click the Cog icon to launch the Grid Designer dialogue.

    • The columns available for adding to the grid are listed in the left panel.

  2. Click the expanders to view hidden columns.

    • The visible columns in the right panel are the currently selected columns.

  1. To add an Available Column to the Selected Column panel, select the check box adjacent to the column name.

  2. Clear the check box to remove it from the Selected Column panel or click the cross on the selected column name.

  3. Click and drag columns up or down to change the order they appear on the page from left to right.

  4. Click the cog icon to the left of the selected column’s name to bring up the Rename Column dialogue.

  5. Enter the new Name in the free text field and click Save.

  6. To change the name back to the default, remove it from the Selected Columns panel and add the column again.

Sorting tab

  1. Click the Sorting tab.

  2. Click the Sort icon to the left of the selected column’s name to toggle the sort direction between ascending and descending.

    • The hierarchical order of the columns dictates the sorting order when values in the previous column are the same.

  3. Click Save to close Grid Designer.

Reset a grid to its default layout

If you've customised a grid using the Grid Designer, you can reset it back to its default layout. There are two ways to do this.

To reset any changed grids, follow the steps below:

  1. In Administration, select App Page Admin.

  2. Find the page you want to reset. Any page that has grid design settings displays a reset icon.

  3. Click the reset icon for that page.

  4. Confirm that you want to delete the grid design for that page.

🤓 Tip: Select the "Show Only Pages That Have Grid Designed Grids" checkbox above the list to quickly find pages with customised grids.

You can also reset a grid from within the individual App Page detail page.

Grid design exceptions

If a grid designed list page causes an exception, the grid design settings are removed automatically so you can still access the page. The exception is logged, so you can notify support of the fault.
