β οΈImportant: If the Caretaking Arrangement is open at the time of completing the stage, the status would be set to: Completed - Awaiting Transfer/Completed - Transferred whilst we await a response from the receiving party.
The reason for this is that on opening a Caretaking Arrangement, a full data transfer is sent to Secure Estate/Destination.
When more stages have been completed (whilst the caretaking arrangement is still open), this signifies that you have more up-to-date information than the Secure Estate/Destination, which may need to be transferred.
In this case, an Assessment Update should be sent, so the latest information is with Secure Estate/Destination.
If the latest stage status is Completed Awaiting Transfer (which occurs when the stage is completed whilst there is an active caretaking arrangement), a transfer would need to be sent and accepted by the YJB/Placements team for the status to transition to 'Completed', at which point it would be possible to start a new stage. If a transfer has already been sent and you have not yet received a response, you will need to chase up the YJB / placements team on this.
If time constraints are a concern where waiting on the YJB/Placements team to respond to an outbound transfer, there is an alternative which would allow you to get a new stage created without being reliant on the YJB/Placements providing the acceptance response of the transfer:
The active caretaking arrangement can be ended by adding an end date (if there's no active CA/it has already been ended, this stage of the process can be skipped and you can proceed to the next step)
The stage will then have to be reopened and then closed/completed again
The user will then be allowed to create a new stage
If necessary and/or appropriate, any previously active caretaking arrangements should be made active again by removing the end date from the first step
